Kaduna Book and Arts Festival
Kaduna Book and Arts Festival (KABAFEST) is a cultural gem in Northern Nigeria, a bold and beautiful platform that celebrates literature, performance, visual arts, and dialogue in a region rich with untapped creative depth.
Since its establishment, KABAFEST has not only brought together writers, poets, and thought leaders from across Africa, but it has also sparked meaningful conversations around identity, culture, and expression.
I’ve had the privilege of serving as Technical Director and Live Production Director for this remarkable festival. In these roles, I led the production team to ensure that every session, performance, and conversation was technically flawless and emotionally resonant.
From managing the intricate dance of lights, sound, and visuals to overseeing livestreams that extended KABAFEST’s reach beyond physical borders, our focus was on excellence.
As Technical Director, I ensured the seamless integration of technology from stage design to audiovisual setups, creating an immersive environment for guests and performers alike. As Live Production Director, I called the show, orchestrated transitions, and maintained flow and energy across sessions, ensuring everything ran smoothly and every cue was hit with precision.
KABAFEST isn’t just a festival, it’s a statement. It reflects the vibrant creativity of the North and gives voice to stories that matter. Working behind the scenes, I’ve helped bring those voices to the forefront with clarity, creativity, and cultural sensitivity, because when the message is powerful, the medium must rise to meet it.
